I have bought plate tamps that were 6 times the price of this one in the past and can honestly say after using this one, I wasted my money on those higher priced brands. This thing works great. Starts on first or second pull every time. As with all vibratory tamps it struggles with wet clay, but on dry dirt and crusher run, this thing absolutely does the job. I could not be happier and at the price point it is one of my top amazon purchases. Don't let the negative reviews about the exhaust guard vibrating loose sway you, they all do that. I have never owned a tamp that the exhaust cage didnt vibrate loose on.

Considering you'd pay the same amount to rent a compactor for a few days, this is a great deal. The engine started right up, the manual recommended far more oil than was necessary- I added the recommended amount and it started coughing up white smoke immediately. After draining some until the dipstick read halfway between full and empty, the machine ran well. Starts up quick, runs like a much more expensive compactor. Have used in several smaller jobs so far and very happy with the product based on what I spent.

We spend a couple of days comparing all the pros and cons of available plate compactors. We found this one to stand out based on the reviews, price, and the vibratory compaction we need to prepare gravels for our basement before pouring a concrete slab. Setting it up is pretty and it gets right to it on the second pull. We feel confident the gravels are being packed well and if feels surprisingly safe to use and easy to handle. I would recommend this Plate Compactor.

Easy to assemble once I figured it out as the instructions are lacking. The wheels for transporting are not very useful. Engine runs good and does a decent job for the money

Just received it, my son and I are using it and as a woman the size is nice i can control it better then the larger ones and 2 people can lift is easier. Hopefully we will find many uses for it, We found renting one expensive, so decided to add it to our tool arsenal.

Good product fast shipping. But the Amazon delivery guys took the cake on this one. This thing was heavy. They carried it off the truck and put it inside my garage for me. Great guys and I wanna say thank you.

Great little machine, but big enough, to gravel driveway potholes. Also looking forward to using this in the garden to pack the pathways...great for things beyond what is you would normally think. So far, pretty happy.

Easy to put together, easy to use, great for smaller projects like backyard or small lots. Highly recommend!

This compactor is absolutely worth the money. Used it on a job that pushed it a bit and it surpassed my expectations. I’ll definitely be looking to Vevor for more items when needed for unique jobs. I’m not sure how long this will last - I have two jobs to use it on It has already paid for itself. If it holds out through these next two jobs, it will make purchasing it the best decision.
